Tuition: $2095

Housing: $250 - $450

This price includes:


  1. BulletA welcome dinner with the group in Antigua, private room at the colonial hotel Posada Don Rodrigo in Antigua, and typical Guatemala breakfast the next morning in the hotel’s garden


  1. BulletTransportation from Antigua to Lake Atitlan, a private boat ride to San Marcos La Laguna (site of the workshop), and transportation back to the airport for departure


  1. BulletWorkshop admission to as many sessions as you please (manuscript workshops, directed free-writes, craft talks, fire-side readings, special topics from Joyce, Ann, and other guest faculty members -- as much as you can fit in from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.)


  1. BulletAll meals (breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, appetizers, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages)


  1. BulletFinal night’s party at Joyce’s house with stone-oven pizza, margaritas and lots of readings, music and dancing


  1. BulletSaunas, morning coffee and the most beautiful views in the world

Housing costs vary depending on your own choices.


  1. Bullet$250 - $350: This is for a week’s lodging at the budget level. You will be in a very modest, rustic room at a nearby hotel, about a 10-minute walk to the workshop sessions. Depending on your level of payment, you will either have a shared or private bathroom. Those choosing this option must be able to climb stairs.


  1. Bullet$350 - 450: This is for a week’s lodging in a guaranteed lake-view room at the top level. We have several houses and rooms to choose from, all about a 5-minute walk to the workshop site at Joyce’s home. All rooms are private. Depending on your payment, some rooms have balconies, are larger, or have a garden view, and you either will have a shared or private bathroom.


Housing costs are paid in addition to tuition. Once you have been accepted, we will help you decide which room and level is best for you, but please keep in mind that all housing is first-come, first-served.
