For
years, when my children were younger, I wrote a weekly newspaper column
about our life, as well as a column in Parenting Magazine, featuring
lots of stories about what they were up to, which was frequently pretty
amusing. (I chose to view it as funny, anyway. Although, on a day to day
basis, I often yelled, cried, and threatened to throw toys out the window
of our moving car.) My children are a lot older now and I don't write
about them much (because I'd like them to keep speaking to me), but the
situations I talk about are fairly universal, I think.
